Using hands on observation and witnessing to support the healthy processes which are present and unfolding. We make space for the shifting of patterns in the the tissues.
The foundation for this work is training in Osteopathy, a system of medicine developed in 1874 by Andrew Taylor Still which acknowledges that structure and function are inter related and uses this foundation as a rational approach to medical care.
There are many techniques of osteopathy including myofascial release, counter strain and muscle energy and osteopathy in the cranial field of which Cranial Sacral is an off-shoot.
We may utilize any of these techniques but usually let the bodies wisdom guide the session. The approach is typically very gentle and relaxing.
-
Emotions by nature are temporary experiences though they can get stuck and stored in our tissues. This can be experienced as pain or tension, or feeling mired in the same emotion.
This approach to treatment allows the emotion to be felt and moved through in a non traumatizing way. You can be gently physically held in this process or be witnessed without touch.
-
More and more in medical visits you are given choices. Your providers may not have the time to go through all of the options or you may need to review the medical information and your emotional response to it.

Hydrate well before your session.
You may want to spend a little time observing the area of concern prior to your session to get to know the sensation and experience of this area better. Often we avoid pain and although these areas may be asking for attention, we try not to attend to them. Consider this an invitation to get to know the area in question better on your own so our work together may be deeper.

Testimonials

Dr Jenny Bohrman has been my primary care physician (PCP) for five years. I am a retired RN and I have worked many years with numerous physicians. With this experience, I can say without hesitation that Dr Bohrman gives superior health care. She is sensitive, compassionate and listens extremely well. I appreciate her integrative medical care and willingness to explore different non pharmaceutical options for some problems. Dr Bohrman is one of the best and I feel fortunate to have been her patient.

I feel so fortunate to have such a knowledgeable, dedicated, kind, gentle, and truly caring doctor to help me navigate through many confusing health situations in the past several years in such a thorough, but common sense matter. I have enjoyed having the wonderful advantage of having the best doctor in town.

My Husband and I have been going to Doctor Jenny for several years. I originally found her because she was treating my elderly father. She treated him with such respect and dignity that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have her as our care provider. My husband and I appreciate that she is so wiling to take other approaches than to just push a prescription. Having a physician that will allow you to have dignity of your own body and compassion of your choice is very rare to find. She is kind, loving, and a very gentle being; she listens and advises without pressure and her expertise in her opinions are gladly welcomed.

Dr. Bohrman was our PCP for many years, combining high quality medical care with a warm and personal understanding of who we were as patients and as individuals. She always listened carefully to our medical issues, helped us figure out the best approaches, providing information for us to study so that we were involved as partners in our health care. Jenny is the best doctor we have ever had (and we are both in our late 70s!)

I was unwell spiritually, mentally and physically post-COVID. With expert care and concern, Dr Jenny Bohrman was part of a team of professionals and lay persons who provided the care I needed to survive and thrive. In 2022, I had a life affirming experience with the expert assistance of Dr. Jenny. With precise scientific and holistic methods, I was able to lose 100 pounds, stop smoking cigarettes and live a life that continues to be medication-free. At age 66, this is a feat that is somewhat unique. Dr Jenny recommended treatment that consisted of a proper whole food diet along with few supplements and exercise-yoga, swimming and hiking. Thanks to her care I now walk 5-7 miles daily and continue my weekly cold water swimming practice in addition to a daily yoga routine. Through yogic breathing and meditation, I am able to maintain a healthy weight and clarity of mind that I have not experienced since I was 43 years old. Fantastique!! I will continue to see Dr. Jenny as I continue this part of my amazing life. Thank you, Dr. Bohrman! My gratitude abounds.

At Oak Street Medical, Dr. Jenny provided primary care for over 1500 people for the last 6 + years utilizing conventional, integrative medicine and manual medicine for over 10,000 hours.
She completed a residency in Family Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital through Columbia University complemented by an online fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona.
She studied medicine at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV and completed an additional year as a graduate teaching assistant of OMM.
Prior to medical school, she worked at 11th Street, a Federally Qualified Health Center in North Philadelphia starting as a volunteer then transitioning to an employee at the free fitness center and physical therapy office teaching medication, yoga and practicing Reiki and holistic nutrition counseling with patients and staff. This experience gave Dr. Jenny the impulse to go to medical school to help people transition off pharmaceuticals who were safe to do so and were seeking that change.
She is excited to be in the next chapter, stepping fully into creating her own medical practice in coordination with her patients and their needs.
While health and healing are a passion, she also loves playing games with family, blues and swing dancing, singing with friends, swimming, walking in the woods, and cooking nourishing foods.
